The Baltimore Ferret Club Inc., is a ferret club and rescue serving the Baltimore, Harford, Carroll and surrounding counties in the Delmarva area.
As a club, our goal is to educate the public and ferret owners on the proper care of ferrets. We hold monthly meetings for members and non-members for fellowship and fun, along with having special events such as holiday parties, ferret races, crab feasts and, demonstrations from local veterinarians. Our outreach programs include participating in events such as the World of Pets Expo at the Timonium Fairgrounds and the Pets on Wheels program at Oregon Ridge, each year. The club has also provided educational classes to homeschoolers!
As a rescue, we provide shelter and compassion to unwanted, lost or abandoned ferrets, providing medical treatment and loving care--with the goal of placing them in ‘forever’ homes through adoption. Throughout the year, the BFC holds several fundraisers to help generate the necessary funds to maintain the shelter. Many ferrets are helped through the BFC Shelter, including permanent hospice residents, too old or special needs for the typical placement. Whenever possible, we also help support other ferret shelters in our area.
The Baltimore Ferret Club, Inc., is a non-profit organization sponsored by the Bengies-Chase Recreation and Parks Council, a 501(c)3 organization.
